“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Family Fun Day

There's a church in our town called the Vineyard. One day each of the last two months it has sponsored a community party, and we have been blessed to juggle at both. Augusts event was in a grocery store parking lot, and Septembers was at a local Little League field. In both cases, we did walk-around juggling. In other words, we didn't set up a show and bring in an audience for a given amount of time. Instead we looked for groups of people, went up to them and juggled and performed a few illusions for them. Then we'd move on.

This type of performing is very different from what we usually do, and it's much more laid back. If we are getting hot in the sun, we stop and grab a water bottle. Kids have questions, we let them ask and reply. We shake hands and greet fellow Bridgtonians we haven't seen for some time.

I applaud the folks at the Vineyard for their efforts to build community spirit and rapport. At both events they provided free hot dogs and hamburgers for anyone who came, games for the kids, and music. In August, they offered pony rides, and in the most recent family fun day, Slugger the Seadog- official mascot of Portland's AA minor league baseball team- came by to organize a neighborhood kickball game.

Thank you, Vineyard, for doing what the church should be doing here in Bridgton, Maine.
