Yesterday I went to the Windham, Maine state prison to do two shows. One was on the intake pod for men, and the second on one of the female pods.  The intake pod is the section of the prison where all incoming prisoners first go for physical and psych evals. About forty men came out (they had a choice between my program and outdoor recreation) to see the show.  We had a really good time, and one of the men told me afterwards, "I got your message today."  Another asked to pet Cotton, our rabbit, and told me, "We might be ugly gangsters, but we like cuddly things, too."  

The second show was on a nearby unit for women inmates.  I'm not sure specifically which pod it was, and it doesn't really matter.  I did a full hour show for them, and we again had a good time.  It occurred to me that, if I am obedient reaching out to these women when they are in needy, God will be faithful to raise up people to reach out to my daughters when they are in need and I'm not able to be there.  I don't believe in making deals with God, but I have to believe this is true...
