“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Our First Show in Africa

So after much speculation, we did our first show here in Uganda today. I had spoken to Simon, our security guard, earlier in the week and he suggested we do one for the neighborhood on Saturday. Then early this afternoon he came up to Sue and me when we were out on our porch and said, "You should do the show today. Everyone is home because it is a holiday (Election Day)." So we went into show mode and got ready. I guess that's how you book shows in Africa.

We set up on our American neighbor's porch so we could tap into their electricity for our music. Did I mention that our power was out for most of our day? Meanwhile they set up chairs in the road and kids began to sit. Then adults began to arrive as well. I was especially pleased that one of our Muslim neighbors came and watched as well. When the gate was open, as it is from time to time, people were also watching from the street.

At the time we got the word that we'd be doing a show this afternoon, Rose had already gone back to Agape House for bath time, and I didn't know if she'd be back in time or not. Therefore, I planned the show without her, but she did come back for most of it, and performed the shackles escape and machete juggling. The rest I did solo. For not having practiced much since arriving, and not feeling my best today, I thought it went well. It was a chance to continue fitting into our neighborhood more and more. And our porch has been even more full of neighbor kids than usual.
