“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Oceanwood Camp

Oceanwood is a beautiful Christian camp in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Thirty years ago, my wife and I did shows there once every week. Since then we've done a couple shows there, but never for the actual camp program: rather the occaisional retreat that rented the facility. Last week, after all this time, we returned to do a show for their summer camp program. Specifically, our audience was a combination of elementary aged day campers and teen overnight campers. The latter group were mostly from Massachusetts. It was a wide age range but they all enjoyed the hour long show.

We were invited to arrive early so we could have lunch at the camp, and we enjoyed cold cuts and salad with some of the kids and staff. One counselor sitting with us turned out to have grown up in the same Vermont town I am from! He graduated in 2006, 27 years after I did, but remarkably we had a couple of the same teachers.

After a nice time of interacting with him and other camp folk, we went to the building where the show was to be performed. The program coordinator- a biology major- enjoyed playing with our doves and rabbit before the audience arrived. I had been told of a 12 year old camper named Emily who could juggle. Before we started I asked her to show me what she could do. She was very smooth with three ball cascades, reverses, and showers. She could also do four and multiplex five.

Then it was time to start. I did an hour long set, and the kids were with me the whole time. I trust the Gospel presentation was clear, and we had time to interact with them afterwards. After all these years it was nice to be back, and the staff and kids all said they wanted us back, hopefully in less than 30 years time.
