“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Woodstock Wesleyan Church

On Sunday, Jo, Rose, sue and I headed north of the border to do a special kids service at the Woodstock, New Brunswick Wesleyan Church.  This was our first show in Canada in over a year, and it was good to be back.  The last time we were at Woodstock Wesleyan we had problems coming back across the border due to our dove ( read about it here:  http://www.supremecourtjesters.org/SCJBlogs.aspx?Search=american%20bird&SearchType=Keyword  &  http://www.supremecourtjesters.org/RicksBlog/tabid/66/EntryId/80/Hes-an-American-Bird-Part-Two.aspx )  This time we used a stuffed animal dove, and we crossed very easily.

WWC has a new facility, and it is beautiful.  The youth room, where we did our show,, was spacious and even had plenty of ceiling height for juggling.  I would estimate that there were between 50 and 60 children between 5 and 12 years old present.  We did an hour set, and they were attentive the whole time.  Even the seven year old boy who announced, “I’m hungry!” during my first routine settled in after that.

It has been three years since we’ve been to this particular church, so most of our material was completely new to them.  I built much of the message around the story of Zaccheus meeting Jesus on the side of the road, using the dollar bill in the balloon trick to make the point.  It was all well received.  I closed with machete juggling, which is always popular, then we stayed for a cook out.  It was supposed to be a street fair, but it was pouring all day, so there was no second performance at the fair.  I did however reprise my head expansion trick for some curious adults whose kids told them about it after the service.
