“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

JOHN 3:16

I remember a show early in our ministry at a nursing home in Vermont. As we were setting up our props, prior to the show, the staff began bringing in the residents a few at a time in their wheelchairs. One lady, clearly a dementia patient, was very agitated, and began yelling random phrases and words that were irrelevent to the setting. Professionals call this behavior perseveration.

Sue and I realized that we would not be heard at all during the show if this behavior continued, and it was clear the resident wouldn't be stopping any time soon. So we stepped outside and prayed. We prayed for the lady, for the other residents who'd be at the show, and the show itself. We prayed for our own attitudes. Then we went back inside.

Remarkably, the lady was silent throughout the entire show! We knew immediately that this was answered prayer. But God was not done. As soon as the show was over, the lady began perseverating again, only now it was not meaningless jibberish. Instead, the resident began yelling, over and over,"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

What happened in the lady's heart that day? I don't know. But God is able to reach into the hearts of anyone who still has breath, regardless of disability, presence of mind, age or any other factor. How do I know? "For God so loved the world..."
