“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Windham State Prison

I was feeling miserable when I left home for the Windham prison on Wednesday evening.  Just a spring cold, mind you, but still my throat was burning, I was coughing and my nose was running like a freight train.  Somehow, I knew I needed to go, though, and calling to postpone didn't even cross my mind.

Several men came out to the service that evening, and the show went very well.  I prayed, and asked others to pray, that the show would be annointed and the Gospel would be clear to all.  Recently I've felt that I let my shows get 'safe' sometimes.  I stick to easier tricks, sugar coat the words I say, don't take chances.  I went into this show ready to turn that trend around.

I closed with a routine I hadn't done in quite a while based on the story of the thief who died on the cross beside Jesus.  I pointed out that the last thing Jesus did on the cross, other than pray, was to forgive and promise eternal life to an incarcerated person.  The Holy Spirit moved in a big way that evening, and many men were teary eyed by the time the closing prayer was prayed.

So, I'm still feeling miserable with a spring cold.  What would it have helped to have stayed home on Tuesday?  I'd still feel sick either way, but at least by going, I was able to be part of a meaningful service with some men who were very open to the moving of the Holy Spirit.
