“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Morning Services at Camp

This week at camp, I'm doing a service each morning with middle school students.  Many of these campers have seen my shows before here at camp, so i'm glad we worked on so much new material over the winter.  Even so, there is a familiarity they have with me that I don't have with most audiences.  Nonetheless, we're having fun, and hopefully learning about Jesus in the process.

That being said, today's show was a rough one.  I had been dealing with administrative issues right up to the start of the show, so I hadn't stretched, warmed up, or even sequenced the routines I was going to perform.  My opening juggling routine had many drops, I seemed confused or lost a lot (which I was!), and my mind was very distracted by things unrelated to the show.

Feeling so poorly about my session with the campers, then, I was surprised and pleased with how so many of the things I was trying to communicate were reiterated so clearly by our evening speaker, Peter Valji.  Perhaps some of the things he said triggered a memory in a child's mind of a moment in my show when I made the same point.  Maybe they got more out of what I presented than I think.  Maybe I'm unnecessarily hard on myself.  What ever the situation, I know that 'One waters, one reaps, but the Lord provides the harvest.'  I know that even in my worst performances, somehow what I do is part of that process.

"What a wonderful ministry to both children and adults.  In past years it has been a struggle to arrange programing that would hold the attention of all ages, but also challenge each heart with God's gift of Salvation.  Thank you for sharing your ministry."  -Sunday School Sup't.
