“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Care Net Auction

Last night we were part  of a benefit concert / auction to raise money for Care Net Crisis Pregnancy Center ( https://www.care-net.org/ ).  While this Care Net is based out of North Conway, NH, the benefit was held in our home church here in Bridgton.  Our good friend, Alan Bean, is a medical doctor who serves on Care Net's board of directors, and we appreciate his having us back as part of this fund raiser again this year.

The turn out was about 1/2 of what we have gotten in past years.  It seems three other churches in Bridgton were having events last night, too.  Nonetheless, Alan says $1200 was raised.  This is low compared to past years, too, but everything helps.

Care Nets goal is to encourage women in crisis pregnancies to choose life by helping them with medical bills, safe housing, other costs, as well as supporting the mother in any way necessary after the baby is born.  It's a pro-life ministry that takes the effort to rescue unborn children out of the voting booth and into the community with real hands and hearts and feet.

As for our part, I was blessed to be able to include two of my students.  Seth and I did a comedy diabolo routine to African drum music by a band called Insingizi ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Insingizi/46531599172 ).  Then Joey and I did the skit "Judgment Day", which you can find written as a blog on this web site.  The two boys were outstanding!

Perhaps no issue has been more divisive in the US in my lifetime than abortion.  As a father of three children, who we were not supposed to ever have, and as a follower of Jesus, I have pretty strong feelings against abortion.  I will be writing more about this later, but it was nice, last night, to do something, albeit fairly small, to take a stand for the unborn.
