Our local nursing home utilizes the Supreme Court Jesters than any other institution right now.  They book us for four shows each year.  We're happy to do them, but it is a challenge to keep things fresh for the audience and ourselves.  Yesterday's show, though, was unique in several ways.

Rose did almost 1/2 the routines, including: dove production, rabbit production, shackles escape, linking rings, silk juggling, Jonah & the whale, and a few more.  Also, the routines were very well executed.  This is especially encouraging when considering how low the ceiling is for juggling. 

Perhaps the most memorable part of the morning, though, was one elderly resident.  As a nurse was bringing her in, she looked at me and said, "I'll take that one right there!"  The nurse smiled and said, "She claims to be blind, but she can spot a man from a mile away!"  After the patient sat down, she made another flirtatious remark, and the woman next to her said, "Mary, you haven't changed since you were a kid!"  I remember when our ministry first started in the mid eighties, and once in a while some youth group girls would try to flirt with me at shows.  Now it's the nearly blind geriatrics in the nursing homes!
