“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

York County Jail

On Tuesday, I went to the york County Jail to do two services.  My contact there is a long time friend, Chaplain Trent Boyd.  My wife and I have been going to YCJ for over 20 years, and we have a lot of crazy memories.  The most dramatic was when the power went out while we were in the middle of our show in a room full of inmates!  It took about 30 seconds for the emergency lights to come on, but it felt like an eternity.  No one moved, however, except the guard who had positioned himself between the inmates and us.

This visit was a little different than usual because there is a new director of volunteer services.  He's trying to do everything by the book (Can't blame him) so I only had 30 minutes per show.  Because of the amount of time it took to transition the audience in and out, I had more like 20 - 25 minutes.  It's hard to really win the audience over and present a clear presentation of the Gospel in that amount of time, so I used it more as an opportunity to advertise the chaplaincy program.  A few inmates were surprised there even WAS a chaplain and expressed an interest in meeting with him, so I guess it was worth it.

Technically, the shows were excellent, albeit FAST.  Please join me in praying that the Word, as briefly stated as it was, will not return void, but be used by the Holy Spirit to bless many.
