“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

I Missed the Rapture Again

Last Saturday was supposed to be the rapture... again.  Harold Camping, a radio 'pastor' assured us Jesus would be whisking us all away Saturday, and he was wrong.  Surprise, surprise.  Perhaps Camping, 89, should be kept safe and comfortable in a home rather than allowed in a radio studio.  If that sounds harsh, read what Deuteronomy requires of false prophets.  Camping, along with many other false prophets on TV and radio, should breathe a sigh of relief that we are no longer under Old Testament law.  But perhaps, even in the era of grace, someone should at least go into his radio studio and turn over a few tables. After all, 'What would Jesus do?'  More realistically, how about a heresy trial.  Seriously. Jesus warned very harshly about false prophets, and we can't keep pretending that they're no big deal.

Perhaps I find these predictions of the date of the rapture all the more sinister since I don't believe in the rapture, although I wouldn't stake my salvation on it.  So when I hear of these 'prophesies' I wonder how someone can pinpoint a date for an event that I believe isn't really going to happen... But that's not the point.  I acknowledge that I may be wrong, and I only share my opinion as an opinion, not a prophecy.

Most of all I'm frustrated by fellow believers who are so lacking in Biblical knowledge that they believe this date setting nonsense so readily.  So now the atheists, and other nonchristian faiths are laughing at us once again.  It's time to hold the doomsday false prophets accountable for mocking Jesus' Words and giving people another reason to reject Christ because of the stupidity of some who claim His Name.
