“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Walk-a-thon for Hunger

Nancy and Bob Grigg get the Gospel.  They love Jesus so much, and they live it out by loving others.  Bob is a builder (not the cartoon PBS Bob the Builder) and has often donated his time and skill to help those in our community.  He even rebuilt our steps for us, as I am not a particularly handy guy.  Nancy seems to have her hand in everything, and does it all joyfully.  She even started a quilting ministry in which a group of ladies- I don't think theres any men involved, sew quilts and donate them, along with a new Bible to group homes, hospitals, hospice homes, etc. Their most recent project was a walk-a-thon through the hiking trails in our home town of Bridgton.

Sue, Rose and I needed to leave for northern Maine the same day as this event, but we really wanted to show our support for this project.  The proceeds of the walk went to restock local food pantries from several churches as a means to helping the local families who might need a temporary hand.  The three of us didn't walk, but Rose and I juggled at the starting point.  The walk began adjacent to a local farmers market, so there were people around throughout the morning.  We were able to talk up the event and solicit a few donations from folks who were not prepared to walk but desired to help.  It wasn't much, but we were glad to help and show support to Bob and Nancy.

Then my wife, daughter and I got into our cars and immediately headed north to Mapleton where we live for six weeks each summer doing camp ministry.  I'll be writing about that soon, if the wifi doesn't go out again!  Ah, roughing it!
