“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Westfield Baptist Church

for the second year in a row, we were invited to be the guest presenters at the Westfield Baptist Church's camping weekend.  This church from the small farming town on Westfield, Maine packs out Campers' Paradise for weekend of fun and fellowship, and it's been fun. To be part of it twice now.

Campers Paradise is a beautiful campground with a spectacular view of the 20 plus windmills on the top of Mars Hill.  The main building, where our show / service is presented, has a snack bar, a dance floor and a wide variety of Elvis posters on the walls.  Very northern Maine.  After some vigorous hymn singing, I began, with my wife Sue faithfully manning the soundboard.

what was unique about this show is that I basically rewrote and re sequenced a variety of routines to focus the whole show on the Sermon on the Mount.  while you could spend a year or more studying this amazing passage, I had to skip a lot to fit it into 35 minutes.  Nonetheless, I covered a lot, and it came out as a cohesive presentation as well as a lot of fun.

I had spent some time the day before praying for direction for this show. This is often a token prayer I throw out for most shows, but this time it seemed more important to really pray that way.  I remembered a pastor friend tell me that the best messages usually came from what he was studying for himself, and I have been spending a good bit of time in the Sermon on the Mount and Psalms recently. That's when I began to see how so many things from my show could be adapted to fit Jesus' sermon.  Perhaps I'll do this set again sometime.
