Country Village is an old farm house in the little town of Casco, Maine where elderly people who need assistd care live.  It is a warm, cozy environment where I've always  felt welcomed.  For the second year in a row, I've done an outdoor show in their spacious backyard.  The residents and staff (who are excellent, from what I can tell) sat under a couple large tents, and I performed on the parking lot.  Normally this is a fine arrangement, but today is so hot and humid, and the sun beating down on the blacktop was draining.  Nonetheless, we had a great time.

Besides the heat, I had already worked the 5-11 shift at my summer job at a local grocery store, so I confess my juggling wasn't as sharp as most of my recent gigs: a few more drops, and holding back on certain advanced tricks I would normally include in these routines.Being outdoors, though, I did include fire devil sticks, which were without error.

As always, Cotton (my rabbit) was a huge hit.  Due to the heat, though, I did not bring him around to meet the audience after the show.  I also had to use my beanie baby dove since my live doves are not tame enough to not fly away if they had the opportunity.

There was a lot of great feedback after the show, and I'm looking forward to going back this fall.  For now, I'm going to relax in front of a strong fan and have a cool glass of water.
