“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

From my Journal of my First Mission Trip: the DR 1994 (2nd entry)

Tuesday:

Actually today is Wednesday mornnig, but I never got a chance to write yesterday.  I spent most of the day juggling, after perhaps 30 minutes at the job site.  Frank, Mike Wendy and I went canvassing, along with several teens.  We got right into the people's neighborhoods.  What poverty!  But they were so appreciative.  The kids and adults (many of whom don't seem to have jobs) were eager to come out to watch me juggle.

After lunch at the work site, we had VBS at the church.  Even though our canvassing was the only advertising, the little church was packed.  It should be so easy for Sue and me as we try to plan our VBS (back home).  Of course, I juggledthere too.

After an awesome meal - some sort of Dominican stew - we had an outdoor evangelistic campaign and guess what.  I juggled some more.  Everything started over an hour late as they built the lighting and sound right then and there, but n one seemed to mibnd.  A cow even walked through the field.  Although I could never be this laid back, I do need to learn not to stress out so much when things go wrong.

The food is truly wonderful.

There're chamelions everywhere, especially in the showers.  No scorpions yet, but one kid was stung by something and began getting tremors.  They stopped, though, and he went back to work on construction.

Paul and I had our first "I miss my family" talk.  We both agree that the happiest times of our lives have been since getting married and having kids.  I miss them, and especially Sue.
