“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

LOL Goes to Vermont, Day Four

On Sunday, May 29, LOL woke up in Vergennes, Vermont one last time.  It was a bitter-sweet morning, as it would be the final LOL show of the year, and the final one in the careers of the eighth graders.  The show was for the church that hosted us for the three nghts we were there.

And what a show it was!  The kids, as tired as they were after such a full weekend, rose to the occaision, and did their best performance of the year.  Everything just flowed, and the audience was great.  Every juggler was perfect.  The skits were flawless.  The illusions were spot on.  We had two eighth grade solos.  Amber sang a beautiful worship song that moved some to tears.  Then Nathan, who was unsure what to do for a solo, settled on what he does best: speaking.  He shared his story of coming to faith in Jesus, and you could hear a pin drop.

We closed out our show in a different way than we had all year.  After 'Beautiful, Scandalous Night" we invited the congregation to bring their burdens, written on post-it notes, to surrender to the cross in the same way the kids acted it out with their bandanas.  Again, the congregation was very moved.

When the props were packed up, and a lot of teary eyed eighth graders comforted each other, the church treated us to a pot luck dinner before hitting the road to Maine. The ride back was a quiet one, and I'm sure everyone was reflecting on the memories that had been made over the past four days.
