“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Halloween at Bridgton Alliance

October 31st is never a day with nothing to do.  I can't remember a Halloween since college (1979) when I didn't have at least one show.  This year was no different, but it was special in that Sue and I spent the evening at the Bridgton Alliance Church, which we called home for 23 years.  The church has been refurbished in many ways, and the sanctury especially looks beautiful!  It was also nice to reconnect with some old friends there, including Marge (who never seems to age), and Pastor Mike and his wife, Lisa.

The event was much bigger than just my show.  There was a lot of candy, carnival games and even an indoor bouncy house.  All this was shut down for half an hour in the middle of the evening so that everyone would come to my show.  I used Zeke, our new rabbit, for only the second time, and he is getting more and more used to show business.  Pastor Mike also laid out flame resistent tarps on the platform so I could juggle fire devil sticks; a rarity for indoor shows.

Before closing the show with fire, I did the lost coin parable in which I borrow a signed dollar (or in the case of this gig, a 20) make it vanish and reappear in a box withn a box within a box.  Just as in the parable, I talk about how we belong to God, and he is doing whatever he can to bring us back to him.  He may even use a juggling show at a church Halloween event.

I found out later that the man whose bill I used for that trick has only visited the church a few times.  His wife has come to faith in Jesus, and is attending regularly.  He spoke to me a bit after the show, and I am confident the folks at Bridgton Alliance will see a lot more of him.
