The Crestwood Center is a nursing care and rehab facility center not far from Amherst, New Hampshire.  It is also the home of our niece, Danielle, who, although not yet 40, has been in need of critical care for a few years, and is currently on dialysis daily. She is also a sweet woman, and I'm proud to be her uncle.  Interacting with her at the center, you would have no idea of her health problems, and she is the president of the resident counsel and a volunteer in the activities department.  I had the chance to do my show there earlier this month, and it was a joy to share what I do with the residents and some of the staff.

Because this is where Danielle lives, and her parents aren't too far away, there were also a lot of special guests: Danielle's parents (my brother and sister-in-law), two nieces, and another one of our brothers who lives not too far away in Massachusetts.  It was the first time in a while some of them have seen my show.  (Although I must say that one niece, Lyndsey, worked for me as a CIT when I was a camp director, and she has seen my show many times over the years.  Even eight years later, she recognized most of my material.)

The show was fine, with great responses from the crowd, but the best part was the bonus of having so much family in the audience.  And Danielle seemed very blessed to have hosted us.

After the show, we went to my brother's house for a cookout and swimmming in their pool.  Danielle was even able to leave the Crestwood Center to be part of this mini family reunion. Sometimes a how is more than just a show.
