“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Fryeburg Health Care

On Saturday I did a 45 minute show at the health care center in Fryeburg, one town west of our home town of Bridgton.  I had taught in the Fryeburg special services department in the public school system there from 1988 - 1995. I went to the show alone, as Sue and the older girls had a funeral to go to and rose was recovering from an all night 'lock-in' with her youth group.

Before the show, while I was just setting up, one of the nurses introduced herself to me and reminded me that I had taught her son when he was in third, fourth and fifth grades.  He is now 31!  This didn't make me feel old at all!

Even though I had this reminder of how I old I have become immediately before the performance, I did well.  I had almost no drops in any of my routines, and I again did the suspended water glass illusion that I got for my birthday in December.  The residents were very involved in the show, which is not always the case in such settings.  They seem to have a higher functioning clientelle than many local nursing homes.  I spent some time visiting one of the men after the show.  He is a WWII veteran and he shared some stories with me.  He was quick with a joke and very amiable.  This was a nice ending to a nice morning.
