“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Bella Point, Fryeburg

Due to covid-19, I have been doing fewer shows this summer, and most are held outside. This was the case yesterday when I drove to Fryeburg (one town to the west of our home in Bridgton). The Venue was the parking lot of Bella Point assisted living, and it started as a comedy of errors.

When I first arrived there was some confusion as the activities staff had me scheduled for the following day. After some hemming and hawing, and both she and I apologizing if we were the ne to blame, she went back indoors to discuss with the administrator the possibility of making it happen. They decided to go for it.  The administrator helped the maintenance guy set up some tents for the residents to have shade while I set up for my show.  At one point, I cught my left index finger on a wire and started to bleed. While I can't tell you where this wire was, or what its purpose is, it did a good job tearing into my finger. An arriving nurse happened to have a band aid in her car, so I wrapped the wound and the bleeding slowed down.  At one point, I removed it, bu the bleeding started again, so I put the used band aid back on.  I warmed up a bit and got used to this on my finger; then it was time to start the show.

The weather was perfect; warm, but not hot with minimal humidity. We had a great time, and it was one of those rare shows in which I didn't drop once!  Of course, with social distancing, I was not able to mingle after the show or let them pet the rabbit, but I did have a few conversations from a safe distance. I hope I can keep booking more of these outdoor gigs until things return to normal.
