“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Easton Baptist Church

The day after performing at Easton, Maine Field Days (see previous blog) we had two shows at the Easton Baptist Church.  In fact, on my way home after the field day gig, I stopped at the church and set up a lot of the show then.  when Sue and I arrived at the church Sunday morning there was still a good bit of prep to do, what with doing two shows back to back, but it was manageable.  We planned two entirely different sets because the shows were for Sunday School (adults included) and the regular service, so it was essentially the same audience.  This was complicated more by the fact that several in the audience had seen my show the day before, but we were able to do it with minimal reruns.

For the Sunday school hour, I focussed on routines that contrasted the eternal things of God with the temporal things of this life.  For church, I closed with my routine about the prostitute named Mary who entered the dinner party uninvited, wept before Jesus, and washed his feet with her teats and hair.  I reminded the audience that the grace He showed her is available to all of us when we seek Him, and it's also available to all.

after the gig, we packed up and headed back to camp for the start of another week of camp ministry.

I love how we spend our summers.
