LOL at Cornerstone Christian Academy

Apr 03 2017

My teen jugglers, LOL, were the chapel 'speakers' at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Ossipee, NH last week.  I try to get them to do at least one show at another Christian school each year, but this was our first time at CCA.  The school happens to be just minutes away from where my wife runs an adult education program, so she slipped out of work o catch our gig.  Not only that, but her assistant's son is a student at CCA, so Crystal came to the chapel service, too.

The students were well rehearsed as this was our last show of a very busy month of March.  Leah did her 8th grade solo.  Like Liz's a few days earlier, Leah decided to sing, not juggle (although she is very capable with clubs, rings and knives, too).  She sang Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".  Wow, what a beautiful voice, perfect for this song, too.

LOL has a unique challenge that day in New Hampshire, though.  It wasn't low ceilings, dim lighting or gusts of wind.  We learned that CCA has a large any care and preschool program; about half their enrollment.  Of course, being the smallest, these little ones sat in the front row.  Consequently, he performers had to deal with a lot of noise and movement between them and the rest of the audience.  LOL in all. They handled it well.  Josiah even taught a two or three year old the art of fist bumping.  Unfortunately, this caused Josiah to miss a cue, but how can I get on him for playing with the little guy.  That's kind of what ministry should look like to kids that age, I suppose.

"What a wonderful ministry to both children and adults.  In past years it has been a struggle to arrange programing that would hold the attention of all ages, but also challenge each heart with God's gift of Salvation.  Thank you for sharing your ministry."  -Sunday School Sup't.
