“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Somerset County Jail

Somerset County Jail is in Madison, Maine, about a two hour drive from our home in Bridgton. While it is a ways to go to do a free show, it is one of the highlights of our year. The chapel is beautiful, complete with eight 'stained glass windows' painted on the cement block walls and unusually high ceilings; perfect for juggling.

The Jail has a new programs officer, and for whatever reasons, the show was never communicated to the weekend staff. The desk officer remembered me for prior shows (I go roughly twice a year, sometimes with my wife, Sue) and assured me they could still pull it off. During the hour I set up, they would let the inmates know about it. She said, however, that it was visiting hours. Between that and the short notice, she said the turn out to the show would probably be small.

Typically when I perform for chapel there, 20-30 inmates come out. I prayed about this as I set up, including that God would bring out the people who would most benefit from the program. As I stood up in front of the chapel about to start the show, I did a quick count and saw 75 inmates present. Adding in the three guards and two inmates who came late, there were at least 80 people there, more than I've ever had at this facility.

After the service, which was fun and I trust, meaningful, I was locked alone in the chapel to pack up my props. I happened to notice then a sign on the wall that said "chapel max. capacity: 45 people".

Praise God.
