Supreme Court Jesters Blogs Minimize

As regular readers of my blog know, LOL is my team of student jugglers from Windham Christian Academy. They perform regularly throughout the school year, and you can find plenty of blogs about their shows on this web site. This morning, however, they were part of something a little different than they've done before. They were part of a presentation in a church to promote the school. Essentially, they were in advertising.

Don't get me wrong, one thing I drill into their heads whenever we go out to do a gig is that they represent the school, the Lord and their families. Simply by doing what they've done for 20 plus years has promoted Christian education, and their school in particular. But this time that was the primary point of the service.

Consequently, they were not the whole program. Our new principal spoke, a video featuring alumni, current students and parents was shown, and a sophomore showed off the ukulele she made in wood working class, complete with playing a couple tunes. LOL only did three routines. We started with a juggling display that features C-Squared on his stilts, Elijah juggling rubber chickens, and Brianna juggling executioner axes.

Later in the service, they performed a skit about the parable of the wise and foolish builders followed by Kasy doing the card castle. These last two are new as of about a week ago. The skit is one they've done in the past, but not this year's team. The card castle is my routine that I've never had anyone else do until Kasy. Given the limited rehearsal time, these both came off very strongly, and it was kind of exciting putting in new stuff on short notice.

These last two routines were important to include because I had a few minutes to speak after them, and felt the right topic was "foundations". While I didn't state nor imply that Christian schooling was the best foundation for all kids' educations, I did promise that our teachers would be faithful to do all we can to lay a solid foundation for any students who come our way. I trust it came across well.
