“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

32 Anniversary

Sue's and my wedding anniversary is March 22, which means last week we celebrated our 32nd anniversary. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around 32 years. This is the same length of time from the start of first grade until college graduation...TWICE. It is the amount of time from my birth to when I became a dad for the second time. It is the length of time from when Jackie Robinson was still just a 23 year old Negro league player until the time Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's all time home run record. It is, give or take a year, the approximate length of time Jesus lived here on earth.

This year, our anniversary fell on a Thursday, so we waited until the 24th to celebrate. We had an afternoon show at a local assisted living home, so our date, fittingly, started there. After packing up and saying goodbye to our aged audience, we continued on to Portland. We went to a wine tasting that our oldest daughter told us about. It was an intimate little winery in Portlands Old Port district. There were only two other couples there, and it was very quaint. It served all local wines, including blueberry, rhubarb and apple wines.

From there we went to the Babylon restaurant, our favorite. Owned by an Iraqi-American family, they specialize in Middle Eastern dishes, and on Saturday evenings they have an all you can eat buffet. I truly did eat ALL I could eat: falafles, grilled vegetables, and a lot of dishes whose names I still don't remember.

As fitting a couple married 32 years, we were home by 9:00, and we're up in time for church the next day, ready to start our 33rd year together.
