“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Eggy and the Bike Boy

Esther was a counselor in training this summer at the camp I direct in northern Maine. She's a demure 15 year old Pastor's daughter whose mom passed away three years ago. She came on staff for the first time this summer, and when her mostly teenaged coworkers learned her initials were EGG, she was quickly given the nickname Eggy.

One morning this summer Eggy was assigned to accompany another counselor to supervise a group of eight through ten year olds who were going mountain biking. But when Eggy realized one Chubby little boy couldn't ride a bike at all, she spent the next hour holding his bicycle upright, teaching him to balance and peddle and trotting back and forth with him on the basketball court. It reminded me of the times I ran up and down our dead end street teaching my three daughters to ride, but Eggy is a 15 year old kid herself.

Although our camp is in the northernmost part of the lower 48, it can get hot in the summer, especially running back and forth on blacktop in the direct sunlight. When it came time for lunch, both Eggy and the bike boy were red faced and sweaty. But the camper looked at me and said, "When I get home, I'm gonna tell my mom, 'No more training wheels. Take 'me off. I don't need 'me any more!"
Even at only 15 years old, I'm sure Eggy realized it was worth her time, sweat and effort to be Jesus-in-skin to this little guy.

"Let the little children come to me; do not send them away. It is to ones such as these that the Kingdom of God belongs."
