“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Somerset County Jail

As security gets stricter in Maine's county jails, more and more of the chapel programs I do in these facilities need to be performed multiple times as they break the population down into groups by security levels. Last weekend, at Maine's Somerset County Jail, I did three shows: females, low security males, high security males. Back in the day, three shows in a day wasn't terribly uncommon or difficult to do, but at 57, it's not quite as easy. Nonetheless, I did them and God really moved.

I brought back some classic routines I haven't done much recently: 'excuses', 'the thief on the cross' (for the guys) and 'the woman at the well' (for the women). I will continue to use these at least in jail and prison venues. I could tell a lot of the folks really were in thought and perhaps prayer after these routines.

It always a little bittersweet when someone in jail says they saw me perform there or at another detention facility in the past. In a sense these people are the closest thing I have to 'fans'. One gentleman had seen me a few years ago at the Windham state prison, and here he was again in county lockup. Recidivism is common and really tragic when you think about it. Our corrections systems, mental health programs and drug rehab programs just aren't very successful.

As always the birds and rabbit were a huge hit, and I continue to pray that God is working in these souls doing something that our correctional, medical and rehabilitation facilities are able to do.
