Today was the start of Freshman orientation at Nyack College.  We have Naomi moved into her dorm, she's involved in meetings,, and we're waiting for supper, where we will join up with her again.  We had a meeting with some of the professors in the Youth Ministry major, and we were very impressed.  In fact, a lot about Nyack is impressive.  There are 65 countries represented within the student body, making it among the most diverse colleges in the world.  The faculty is equally diverse.  The people are warm and welcoming. 

Besides being a youth ministry major, Naomi has been accepted into the honors program.  There are already retreats scheduled in both departments.   Junior year, she will have the option of a semester in Washington DC where she could get involved with social justice issues working alongside, among others, Jim Wallis and Sojourners ministry!  I think this is an environment where she can thrive.
