LOL at the Barron Center

Sep 27 2011

My class just got back from our first show of the school year which was at the Barron Center nursing home in Portland.  I was so pleased and surprised with how well they did.  From the respectfulness they showed upon entering the home, to the work and effort in setting up pand warming up, to the performance itself, to the face to face ministry and prayer time with the residents afterwards, this group, 80% of whom are new this year, amazed me as they did everything as if they were experienced pros.

Some of the highlights include:

>  Eric's diabolo wizardry.

>  Joey performing an under the leg throw with machetes.

>  Hannah's hysterical bubble gum / mouth coil gag.

>  Our quartet's beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace.

>  Gabe's excellent interpretation of the major character in "I Want to Know What Love Is".

>  Tanner's portrayal of the 'good' son in "The Prodigal Juggler".

I am optimistic that this will be a great year for LOL.

"What a wonderful ministry to both children and adults.  In past years it has been a struggle to arrange programing that would hold the attention of all ages, but also challenge each heart with God's gift of Salvation.  Thank you for sharing your ministry."  -Sunday School Sup't.
