“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Grandparents' Day at WCA

Today the school where I teach, Windham Christian Academy, had its first annual Grandparents' Day. It was organized by three middle school students with supervision by our second grade teacher. They did a fantastic job.

Events included a tour of the school, teach a grandparent to juggle, creating time capsules, Minute to Win It games, lunch, and a performance by LOL. Every grandparent I spoke to raved about the day. A couple of grandpas even mastered the basics of juggling in a half hour session!

As for the LOL show, the kids did the best yet this year. They have now had three excellent shows in a row. The machete juggling was flawless, Jonah and the Whale was hysterical, the shackles escape was the best ever, and, of course, the dove and rabbit productions were received with ooohs and ahhhhs. A boy in the class and I do a variation of stealing with stageballs that is rather unique and funny, and we nailed it. A young lady performed some tricks with clubs that I've never had a student do in a performance before, and the girl who does the Adam and Eve apple juggling slayed the audience, even while choking on the apple's stem.

My mother-in-law was unable to attend with our girls, so my sister-in-law took her place. Although she is way too young to be a grandmother, Linda was, nonetheless a very enthusiastic substitute! All in all it was an outstanding day, and I am proud of the students who worked so hard to make the day a success; I'm proud of my coworkers who did so much to bless the grandparents, and I'm proud to be part of the WCA staff.
