“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Bridgton Health Care

This morning we had a show at Bridgton Health Care, our local nursing home in our home town.  The residents there are much more 'into' our show than they used to be.  I'm not sure what's changing in terms of the level of need in the residents, but many of them remembered us from the last time, which doesn't often happen.  Our 45 minute set was strong, and Rose did a fantastic job with the narrations, which is still new to her.

The joy, for us, in doing today's show was that our friend, Erlene Proctor, was there.  Erlene is a profoundly deaf friend from our church who has just made the nursing home her home.  She has a wonderful sense of humor, and she seems to be making the best of her change in living situation.  She has lived alone for all the years we've known her (and she has often been a guest speaker at school), but now she has to get used to living in an institution with dozens of people.  On the one hand, she's not thrilled with this part of it, but she says the food is good and she knows some of the people there from when she worked in the local shoe shop.

We will be visiting her again, and she is in our prayers.  She is one of thousands of people in our state of Maine alone, and millions nation-wide, who, as senior citizens, suddenly find they need to radically change their lifestyles.  May the church be there to help them with these transitions.
