His Place Teen Center has been a light to the young people of Oxford, Maine for 20 years.  It is a drop in center that reaches out to rural young people, most of whom are not involved in a traditional church.  While the center has food, games, performances and Bible studies, the volunteers who make the center possible also organize a range of outings around the state.  Most recently, they brought the kids to Old Orchard Beach during a freak October snow storm!

We have been doing our show there once a year or so since they started.  Last night we returned, and did an hour long show.  It is one of the rare indoor venues where we are able to safely perform fire, so I did both fire balls and fire devil sticks.  I did my revised Christmas routine to Melanie's version of "Hallelujah" for the first time, and I included the 6 bill repeat and a card prediction, both of which i've only performed once or twice before.  The entire show went really smoothly, and the kids, mostly middle school aged this time, were very appreciative to say the least. 

I end the program with an invitation to receive Christ, and two of the teens responded.  I was told by the director that one of them, a high schooler in the front row, had been suspended from school indefinitely, and just recently been re-enrolled.  The staff at His Place have been working with him for over a year, and it was a blessing to be part of how God is working in this young man's life.
