“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Yard Sale For Paraguay Trip

Today we spent our day in our Pastor's yard running a yard sale to benefit our 2013 trip to Paraguay, where we will be presenting the Gospel through juggling and illusions.  It was an exhausting but very enjoyable day.

All of the items that we sold were donated by members of our church and other friends.  Many of the items came from a house that we helped to empty that once belonged to an old gentleman in town.  We never met him, but he had accumulated a lot in his lifetime, and seemed rather eccentric based on what was in his house.  We had multiple tables of items, and a very eclectic assortment:  cross country skis, an antique desk, Aderondack chairs, clothes, candy bars, and a huge variety of other items.

A one point during the sale, a lady was looking at a wallet that belonged to the old man mentioned above.  She approached Naomi and said, "Do you know there's x-rated pictures in this wallet?"  Sure enough, there were about 8 or 10 nude photos, and here we were selling them on the Pastor's lawn!  Naomi took the photos and disposed of them properly.

Later in the day, a young man dressed in black with a long ponytail was looking at a jar we had on one of the tables.  He told me he could use it for his 'medicinal' marajuana.  Maybe it was medicinal, in which case I shouldn't make judgments - I voted Yes on the state referendum to make it legal for medical purposes - but, forgive me for judging, he seemed like a guy that would enjoy the treatments a lot!

In the end we raised $525 dollars.  This gives us a total of $1525, or about 30% of the cost of the trip.  Thank you to everyone who helped us.
